Like just the bare minimum, enough to kinda know what's happening but not being able to enjoy it and get immersed in it. Too busy trying to understand what they are trying to say that I can t even feel much for the characters/situation.

Exactly! If it would only be like composition issue, I wouldn't complain, the translator knows more than me.
But this time it was more like flouting. Black text on almost fully black background and stuff.
