At first I could see her side, with how big the social class gap has gotten, her valid concerns about the political mess and changing everything for her child- then it became kinda ridiculous how she just shut the father out, no proper conversation when he didn't do anything wrong.

And thEN that 2nd male lead - at first it seemed she felt obligated to go out with him 'to pay him back' like her (imo nasty) mum kept hammering in. But then there's some scenes that suddenly after 7 years she has moments her heart fluttered, so there's now a triangle going on and it's just, so messy?? Like if she only just recently started kinda liking the guy, might as well go with the dad of your child that reappeared through no fault of his own. He wasn't a deadbeat, didn't cheat, and is earnestly even offering to live the commoner life with you, but she's being oddly difficult at this point. It's not portrayed that she's being bitter about the hard time she's had but she's sure acting like it. And now because she refused she made her life more difficult having to meet the emperor etc BECAUSE she did that so wdym you want to evade the politics bull, didn't work out clearly.

I just feel bad for the 2nd lead too because it's obvious what the endgame will be, he's been kind but her feelings aren't as sincere.
