Parts I liked: -The art is gorgeous!!! I especially like how they use two panels to show subtle changes in expression. -Story is great, I was on the edge of my seat through the finale -The character designs are great, you can't tell who's good and who's evil from how attractive they are and I love that -One more shout-out for the fashion and architecture -The complex setting is explained very well
Parts I loved: -Angelo's whole deal. Goes from his naive clumsy guy to "Me?? A spy?? You wound me!" In a way that feels natural and true to his character -Gay as hell. "Someday I'll hang him and give you his corpse." But Miguel still tries to act like they're not even friends -The humor and the tension!! -All the Spaniards are great and fun - Giovanni <3 he's to me, what clumsy big breasted Moe girl is to the mainstream. All the Medicis were great. -This manga deals with the expulsion of Muslims from Spain and the violent persecution of the Jewish people through out Europe, yet it's somehow most offensive to the french. Love that.
Parts I didn't like:
- Columbus is a repeating character and none punched him in the dick. Tragic.
- Don't be cowards! Da Vinci didn't return to Florence not out of "poor reputation", but out of "a Sodomy charge" -Bit inconsistent in it's themes, which usually works as the whole point is Cesare questioning what's right and wrong, but. You can't start the whole manga off with "My father is a monster" and then have him be a bit of jerk. Plus Cesare clearly values him and helps him, idk I didn't get it. - I don't really mind the creepy sister (although if you'd like to know, no, there are no historical records of incest happening between these two), but it didn't go anywhere. I mean she didn't even get to talk to Cesare once and had no effect on the plot. Kind of a waste. Same with gay priest Rafaello
