The cat boss. I don't think it made the story go downhill, it's still fluff and somewhat wholesome. It's just the backstory came out of nowhere lol a bit disorienting for me considering the general vibe
I knew this author had a potential to write dark stories when they gave their other MC a pimped-by-my-ex backstory
