I dont know how you got into that conclusion. Mc didnt had ""trauma"", ml was just a jackass beforr they dated in the entire first season. Mc is second-guessing here cuz he's scared jaehyuk would revert back to his season 1 self and see other girls again when jaehyuk rlly wants their relationship to work in his POV
Huh? What? He absolutely has trauma regarding relationships/dating. It's like, one of the main plot points rn: everytime (hyperbole) Garam is having fun with Jaehyuk and thinking things are good and suddenly he'll stop, think about his ex, and immediately go "well the last
relationship I had was a fucking trainwreck so maybe I shouldn't trust this."We as readers have been exposed to this since the fucking beginning, dude, he every now and again remembered this ex during season 1, but now in season 2 that plot point has become front and central. He's thinking more about the ex because he's in a relationship again and is doubting his current relationship BECAUSE of said ex. And this, might I add, is not anyone "interpretating" anything – this is directly told to us readers every now and again. There's no subtext, it's all very literal and smacked in front of our faces. I am saying this in the kindest and most genuine way I can but, really, you should reread season 2 so far at least to catch these again.
Garam's been uneasy about being in a relationship in general since before the "caught cheating except not really because it was all a misunderstanding" incident in the recent chapter s; this just brought the trauma that has been sneaking around itself to be front and center to him. It's why he was hesitant on pet names, and why he was so agitated to the point of them arguing, in the first place.
Ofc Garam is going to remember Jaehyuk's shit tatics of trying and failing to date women in S1, because it’s similar to what he thinks had happened. But what allows him to be so certain that something bad had happened in the first place and be so sure that "ofc this relationship isn't gonna work" despite how much Jaehyuk's shown to have changed (and how much he's shown to love Garam for real) is because trauma works as the little voice in the back of your head always telling that something disastrous is going to happen, that Garam is going to be hurt again, "because it happened once before". This isn't just with Jaehyuk, too, Garam has stopped dating at all since this ex. He's scared of relationships, of commitment, of loving and being loved in turn– because his trauma is a constant reminder that things *could* go south, and he *could* so very hurt... and as such make him not want to take the chance at all.
Jaehyuk's bluntness about how much he loves Garam – both in spite and because of his "dark past", – is exactly what Garam needs to get past that trauma. He's very much shook about Jaehyuk being this straightforward and honest about his feelings, of all things, but the fact he understands Jaehyuk enough (even from how he acted when he was an asshole) to know that this guy really is just that blunt makes it easier to trust him. Garam's ex was probably the case of "too scared about repercussions to do what he wants", or "he's not taking their relationship seriously because he thinks it's unsustainable." Jaehyuk, however, has always been the "I'll do what I want regardless of anything" type. It's the push Garam needs to get out of this trauma.
Tl:dr: Garam DOES have trauma and that IS indeed what's triggering this whole debate with Jaehyuk. The manhwa has shown us said trauma many times before, very explicitly, even related to their current argument.
Yeah I do agree with this analysis for the most part, and its my bad for forgetting the allusions of garam's ex being the reason of his hesitancy (we still havent had a full part on garam's last relationship iirc) but what I took issue w op is garam is looking for a reason to distance himself from jaehyuk. We know that garam does like jaehyuk and wants their relationship to work, but jaehyuk's tendencies of just running back to women now that he's done fucking with garam is still fresh off garam's mind. This still isnt that long ago in this point of the story when jaehyuk was being jaehyuk and garam isnt still used with his sudden switch-up on him. While I do agree that his trauma is playing a part in their tension, I lean more on the trigger being garam literally not knowing what to do with jaehyuk.
I'm confused. MC imagined things based on his traumas and attacks ML and blames him. ML apologizes but it's human to walk away when you're frustrated and resentful about some things. In my opinion MC was waiting for the right motivation to distance himself from ML because his traumas are too strong.
