just responding to this one instead of all the replies but thats not what i was saying .im not saying he deserves this by any means. He was a bystander to the ml’s obv abuse and mental turmoil as someone who had the power and the stance to prevent or to help. even when he moved in prior he noticed the obv bad signs and didnt try to intervene as the adult. Even when he got violent and grossy he rathered not harm heeseo and gave low efforts to manage the situation. This story isnt as black and white as what is comfortable and im simply addressing that idk why you guys can’t see that. nowhere was i implying that’s what “happens” if you dont. i’m simply acknowledging the mcs faults. even now his odd sense of control he knows he has over heeseo is concerning. he can be a victim and also not be 100% innocent. its clear heeseo is an abuser but that can also go hand in hand with the horrible circumstances he was given with no absolute safe place. hes turned out incredibly shitty and is going to immature and criminal efforts to keep the one thing important to him. i just think it’s cool seeing how he contributed to who he is now. Stories like this are for ppl to think beyond just what is right and wrong at least imo.

I do see where you’re coming from. This take makes more sense, at first it felt like victim blaming but I get it. The MC does hold a lot of power over ML, he just didn’t know it then. He could’ve gotten the boy therapy, sat down and actually have a one on one, could’ve done anything other than enable his behavior. That part I do agree with, but I also feel like regardless on whether mc made any serious efforts to help him, ml would’ve cracked. It probably wouldn’t be so soon, or as harmful, but it most likely would’ve still happened. At least if the mc intervened at some point he could say he tried, but even if he didn’t, him ‘removing’ the ml from that home and ‘allowing’ him to stay with him, he still tried. This probably isn’t very coherent, I barely woke up 10 minutes ago, so I apologize for that. I’m just saying yeah it would’ve been nice if mc through the boy in therapy, but with ml’s attitude, his possessiveness and obsessiveness, and his behaviors, it wouldn’t have helped. The moment they get into an argument and he feels like he’ll be abandoned, he’s gonna relapse and crack. (￣∇￣")
