i knew it…. he was taught by his father that giving gifts will make him a good person (or more like the gifts will make it up to the other person) so no wonder he thinks it is a must and gave hayden all that stuff he didn’t even ask for…. and yes, there is actual tension between him and his brother, which i was already expecting given how awkward they are around each other.
that being said, there are quite a few plot points now so i hope the story does not end without them being addressed/resolved. so far, the author has been doing a great job and i’m super hooked! and personally, i would like to see more of hayden’s background story too since right now we’ve only gotten brett’s.

I felt sorry for Brett. Despite everything indicating that Brett loves his brother, this brother doesn't seem to like him that much (or, at least, doesn't understand him).
