i’m confused how you think hajin and his ex are even remotely similar to hajin and geonwoo at this current moment, can you explain? genuinely wondering about this
and about what hajin is “making geonwoo go through”, wording feels weird to me. it shouldn’t be considered making someone “go through” something if you need time to open up and trust them fully, as if that’s a burden. for a person who we just saw has a horrible experience with the only romantic relationship he’s ever had, he’s going to need lots of time and patience, which geonwoo is clearly more than happy to give him
Oh yes absolutely! Sry that I was unclear.
What I'm meaning is not necessarily the similarity in situation as much as similarity in emotions. It's the parallel between young Hajin desperately holding onto hope that his bf, who said he loved him, would eventually allow their relationship to truly blossom and Geonwoo waiting for and hoping that Hajin, who has shown his love, would eventually speak his love.
While I understand Hajin needs patience and that Geonwoo is willing and possibly even happy to him that time, it is not wrong to say that the waiting can still very much tear a person down, hurting them on some level. I don't think Hajin is intentionally placing this strain on Geonwoo but i do believe it is there and I do believe that there is a heavy parallel between Geonwoo and young Hajin.
thanks for explaining, i agree geonwoo and young hajin are both more innocent and naive, and seem blinded by their feelings. however i will say that hajin did think (was led to believe) he was in a serious relationship with his ex while the ex was purposely manipulating, gaslighting and treating hajin badly. geonwoo is fully aware that they aren’t official and agreed to match hajin’s pace in building their relationship. how geonwoo feels now does not, i think, parallel how young hajin felt. also the fact that geonwoo and hajin haven’t been together long at all and are in a dating phase, completely normal imo, i don’t think either of them feel a sense of urgency to make things official. and honestly geonwoo seems much more content with their status than hajin. but thanks for your response, i know we’re all rooting for them to make things official soon :’)
I think it's interesting how Hajin has placed Geonwoo in an extremely similar place that he was in with his ex. The difference being that hajin has no ill intentions; however, the impact is still very much the same.
After the full backstory I feel sympathetic for Hajin, I do. But I am wayyyyy more empathetic towards Geonwoo and what Hajin is ultimately making him go through.
It's frustrating to watch and while I really wish Hajin was able to just move forward, We the readers have to remember that Hajin doesn't get to see all of Geonwoos inner thoughts and emotions like we do and vice versa. So, while you're reading and forming opinions try to have some awareness of the various positions of our characters and give them some leniency.
Sorry that was so long. I'm getting off my soap box now (=・ω・=)
