Eh I wouldn’t say it was robbed at all. If that hadn’t had happened- either gangster dude would have been 2nd ML, used as a stepping stone to bring the main two together. Or the gangster being the ML would bother everyone cause he’s in love with the MC’s brother- hence ppl would want the MC to not choose a dude that doesn’t even like him.
With this route, it seems like gangster dude will have his own happy side couple

Well idk what to tell you, I’m just trying to think positively. Y’all are also assuming that he would end up liking the mc just cause they had a string attached. And that last part you mentioned is just a what if scenario of something that didn’t happen. The story is set, the male lead is set, what’s done is done.
I at least would like to see the gangster dude be happier in a side couple pairing than get roped into a love triangle and used as a stepping stone for the main’s relationship.

Anyways ngl I truly believe y’all wouldn’t like the gangster dude if the ml wasn’t as bad as he is lmao. Imagine the story having the ML be the gangster dude, meeting the middle schooler mc, watching him grow up, having feelings for his brother and blatantly showing it, hurting MC, knowing about MC’s feelings, etc.
And looking at the raws it looks like he found out the truth back then anyways that MC was actually the one he was tied to, but he didn’t do anything after he found out too.
Also with the whole string thing- which for whatever reason y’all think the string automatically is something that means they’ll fall in love forever or they’re fated, there’s some odd things that don’t even make sense with your thoughts about that.
ML and MC didn’t fall in love at first sight due to the string connecting them. When MC and the gangster’s string was cut off, MC liked him one-sidedly and fell out of love with him. Whereas the gangster did not fall in love with him, and instantly had a crush on his brother. The string to me, sounds like it’s just something about how they’ll be connected and often have opportunities throughout their life to meet each other, not that they’d fall in love due to it. (Similar to that BL manga about red string).
