Umm... abuse especially in a form of mental manipulation isn't easy to evade or escape. I've read how many people who were formerly abused said that they didn't know it was one. It's hard to escape an abusive relationship, especially when it steamed up from their childhood. And especially hard when there's no one helping you out. Many I've read that they're always clinging that if they stay, they're under the illusion that maybe they'll come back to their former selves. It's so easy to say that the abuse is quite obvious and he/she should get out of it but in reality it isn't that easy.
