Sorry to disagree but Nah he's abusive and a rapist I actually hope he has nothing but suffering in his future, being short tempered is one thing, being bad at communicating is something too assault sexual and physical can't what if they got together and chiwoo made him upset just to be thrown down stairs again, screw him
I respect your opinion, and you're right. He needed to realize the harm he was causing before Chiwoo even got injured. As I mentioned before, he acts impulsively. I never said he wasn't abusive or a rapist—those are impulsive or opportunistic actions. My point is that, IF had they communicated better or addressed things before they escalated, maybe things could have turned out differently. But ultimately, his behavior is inexcusable, and you're right to point out the severity of it.
There was nothing Chiwoo could have done to avoid this conflict.... Jihyun was literally attacking people that were too close to Chiwoo (based on his opinion) and even decided to brutally rape Chiwoo because he felt like it.
The only thing Chiwoo could have done is getting away from Jihyun before the dude got obssessed.
Hell, even after the rape, he got back from jail and went straight to harass Chiwoo who was now afraid of him...
Also to add, this will be my last comment I swear , Chiwoo is portrayed to be a socially aware character to begin with, he knew about Jihyun's feeling but acted indifferent to them - which subsequently added fuel to the flame. It was inevitable that Jihyun, being emotionally unstable as he was and his character being one that needs validation from others (particularly Chiwoo), was gonna lead to what happens. The worst thing about Chiwoo's character is that he probably knew, more so deduced/predicted, that Jihyun would someday hurt him but because of being his friend he brushed off that idea cause he could comprehend that possibility, because deep down he knew that Jihyun's had the ability to be kind and caring to others, it's just due to circumstance he was unable to do so to others - which is portrayed when Jihyun's gets framed and if I'm not mistaken Chiwoo hesitates at first but later asserts that Jihyun's is not that type of guy, he'd never go so far to kill someone - more so go forth to threaten them not kill them. Therefore this furthermore, not the situation of Jihyun's getting framed but Chiwoo's social position in the story, if that even made sense, and as u said Jihyun's impulsiveness it was probs impossible for him to even stroke a convo about that matter. Which sadly led to the events that unfolded.
Jihyun acts impulsively, often failing to consider the consequences, while Chiwoo avoids confronting the issue directly, leaving the tension unresolved. Chiwoo likely didn’t want to risk their friendship and may have had affection for Jihyun, just not in the same way. This conflict could have been avoided if both had communicated honestly with each other, but they’re both hardheaded, so it’s no surprise things got this complicated. I can’t help but wish things could have worked out differently.
