In manhwas it’s very clear that a lot of the people that write them don’t really care for gay people and just wish to profit off of the stories they write. :) which is why so many of them lack so much depth and are created by horrible people.
Yes, also most of manhwa clearly show the author never engage with gay or queer media. Despite they make manly body but the relationship still based from hetero couple. Also i saw some manhwa clearly making bl for straight girl to self insert ( like lenzhin who's making calender theme only show the tops as main theme) they barely put the couple on same art merch lol
I think bl manga nowdays really start hinted that gay relationship really exist in real life ( i saw a lot gay couple in japan is adopt kid), i have been read a lot bl manga that used how real gay people struggle in society, how they life, etc. They now don't need to separated genre to put queer story on bl. Which is nice change for bl....i just hope something this happened in bl manhwa too
