Same, cutting killian scene is really sad
Imo, for me, it's less cliche this way than just the usual "ML saves FL" by doing something heroic. I know it's less dramatic and makes him /seem/ more passive but, I think just him being there emotionally for her is a lot more than most generic male leads will do. What she wanted was love and acceptance, and having the princess and her father do something, anything in the way that puts their faith in her is a much more fulfilling conclusion. However, I do agree that the lead up to those changes could've been done better.
I get how that can be cliche, but tbh- I just think the ending events are being solved so easily without much impact. It doesn’t even have to be him, I think it would be more meaningful if they had changed it so Edith figured things out and was the one to resolve it rather than random side characters who were bad the entire story
Mention of novel differences (maybe not much spoilers since they keep changing things):
I wonder how they’re gonna adapt the side stories, since they changed the entire last arc/ending of the main story. They’d have to revise quite a lot, since rize and cliff are supposed to have scenes where they face hardships- but if rize is gone already, what’ll happen now?
And honestly I was originally only reading the manhwa, and majority of the manhwa looked like it had nice pacing. But tbh the ending part in the recent chapters feels like they’re rushing quite a lot. Like the conflict happens and the next chapter it’s instantly resolved. Maybe I just feel this way cause I’m typically used to having satisfaction from FL’s resolving conflicts and working to punish the enemies- but in this case, everything is flowing super easily for the FL and everyone is solving everything for her rn. Like the whole part where Edith just wakes up and lize is in the room already?? It felt like a huge jump cause the author didn’t know how to rewrite the scene.

On another note: people are happy that the manhwa is changing the side characters like the duke and duchess to be redeemed, but ngl this felt like they stole the credit. Killian actually helped save Edith (from getting framed and also helped call out rize’s framing), but I guess the manhwa wanted other side characters to take the credit LOL. They randomly added the princess, duchess, and duke to help when none of them actually did anything to help in the novel. I guess they’re trying to make those characters look less bad in order for readers to feel better?? Like how does it feel satisfying that the duke and duchess were so passive the ENTIRE story but flip a switch and are good right at the very end? And this isn’t about control being released, they both still shared care for rize.
It just feels odd to me that they wanted the side characters to shine at the very end, taking away the bigger moments from killian and Edith. Now killian genuinely was pushed aside and looks weak cause they replaced his scene.
