Ig that man adopted him and shelter him so maybe there might a lil bit of emotion strings attached with that family even after lots of hardship and tortured he faced living with them . So that emotion is making him care about them ( it’s hard to explain in eng cuz it’s not my 1st language hope u get it wat Im try to express)

Sejin has rlly low self-esteem and it was shown on many instances already. he doesn't think that he's worthy of anything good, he is underestimating himself 24/7, and after Ido appeared he was constantly feeling anxious and confused when "so much good things happened" to him and he thought he didn't deserve it all (and in reality these "good things" were just the signs of his partner taking care of him, but he considered it all as "too much"), he couldn't accept presents because of it and so on. his self-esteem issues are really serious and i believe that it's a result of being raised in a rlly unhealthy environment. i mean, he was being constantly abused by his adoptive family(or, to be more specific, by his stepfather), both physically(sometimes) AND mentally(permanently), he was gaslighted into thinking that he's "worse than average", and he was under psychological pressure for a really long time, so it's obvious that he would have such issues. it'd be weirder if this sh1t didn't affect him at all.
so yeah, he cares about them because he consideres himself as "unworthy" and he thinks that he MUST repay them all their "kindness"(adopting him&providing him with a job etc.) in any way possible. all because THEY made him feel like that..

i don´t understand why he cares so much now after everything and how they have treated him. or is it just because he has been so brainwashed by them that for some reason he can´t help but to care about them?
