Got caught such an amateurish way it is just embarrassing. They are more professional than this. Either the side story needs to be longer and the author had to write the "caught in mission, interrogation, misery, escape, happy ending troupe OR just wants to make the point not to be in the same group with your sweetheart in missions because you cannot be objective and can f*ck it up badly, like them. I do not know. It is just unnecessary in this point of the story for me at least. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
