If you're referring to the money bouquet, I think he does know her preferences. She would absolutely like the bouquet. It's the fact that he did it infront a crowd, that was already alienating her that possed her off.
Although it's obvious that the ML is a tsundere and likes FL but doesn't acknowledge it yet, he doesn't even makes the effort to understand the FL preferences and desires. It really pisses me of (╬￣皿￣)凸
