That’s still an irrelevant detail. The only fact that matter has already been said. The male lead trust her words when she describes her appearance and believed it because it makes sense that the reason why Male Lead feels the “stares” from bystanders is due to Female lead’s foreign appearance.

Let me give an example. I know of a friend who is black skin and went to Japan for vacay. A LOT of the Japanese tried to rub off the black man’s skin thinking it’s just stained and not actually just because the skin colors are different. Some are very asian whom has nev seen a black man.

THIS is the same situation as the scene of when male lead and MC have tea in a public place and make lead believing the lies of the MC. It’s why male lead believe her excuse. The logic makes sense why many people would glance at MC’s “foreign appearance”. And that’s why Male Lead sticks to that reasoning and strongly believes it.
