Foxes are omnivores too? Probably more omnivorous than dogs why is he afraid of him lmao ig he’s still a small dog. I’ve only read up to chapter ten tho maybe it gets brought up. I mean if being a carnivore is one of the biggest conflicts in the story why make the scary “carnivore” an fox smh but ig it doesn’t really matter tho

True, they are both omnivores, BUT very small dogs can potentially fall prey to a fox too.
But then again, small dogs often compensate with attitude. So TECHNICALLY his attitude should be even bossier than that of a wolf or cat. So I'm not quite sure why he lied. (Shouldn't other species members also be able to TELL he's not what he claims if this is about pheromones and subspecies and so on?)
Another issue I see is the natural behavior. Dogs and wolves have vastly different behaviors, technically that should also make it a dumb idea to lie about the subspecies.

I guess the author just half-assedly threw reasons together to somehow make it work. But I think it would have been better to just NOT go into detail and make a big deal out of it.

It gets brought up in the hotel scene episode. He says foxes are omnivores too but are just classified as carnivores (likely due to pheromone differences from what I udnerstood)
