You're not wrong...but I think the series has been pretty honest that there isn't any romance yet. MC sees the ML as a friend/place of comfort, and the ML simply has an obsession with a new pet. I don't think they're truly in love, but might come to love each other in the future. But that aside I do think the ML treats Yo-il quite well, and generally cares about him.

Honestly I think this manwha had such good potential but there's little to no romance, cuz their way of showing affection is apparently only through sex. Atleast it's not just smut without a plot
