Well, Korean and Japanese readers like this type of stories and pay for them so authors will keep bringing them. Westerners barely pay and most read illegally so these complaints are kind of a waste. I personally think most Westerners aren't suited for Asian comics for its problematic plots and value differences. They would better read other kind of comics or make their own.

I'm not talking about romance. Koreans & Japanese like this kind of stories too, they don't mind toxic plots (Killing Stalking is widely popular). If that wasn't the case, there wouldn't be so many of them. I understand if these aren't of your liking, but as you like cute romance stories, other people like this kind. It's all about preferences.

btw killing stalking was not romance, everyone knows it was psychological thriller/horror.. there's no romance in KS and I enjoyed reading it personally because the author wasn't pushing bum and sangwoo to be a romantic couple. I'm not sure if this work is intended to be romantic, for the moment is a thriller/horror but I understand what you're saying. Toxic stories have been linked to BL from the start. Just take Finder, it started straight from abuse and rape and it's one of all times favorites. Though is getting better, I don't think it will change anytime soon.
