That potion is something that the FL’s mom gave her to make someone love you or be interested in you. Her mom told her to use it if her husband lost interest, she used it in her past life on her husband. He still lost interest after she got pregnant and wasn’t having sex like she used to. FL’s maid doesn’t know what it is and mistook it for fragrance oil, I think whatever’s in that potion is messing with the beastly instincts (being able to track, heightened senses, high sex drive, or more aggressive) that ML’s had since childhood. For some reason, she has an innate ability to sooth his beastly instincts without that potion, so all of these factors are working against each other.
