Nah, I'm a bit frustrated with the execution, but I'm still fond of the characters.
People criticising the age gap and relationship red flags... that's fine, it's better to be critical than blind to issues...but at least 50% of manga is unreadable if you're not able to to separate things that may be problematic irl from the creator's intent. So this story is just not going to be readable for some who have the awareness to be critical but aren't going to be able to see beyond that.
Not a criticism! As I said, it's better to not be able to get past things that could be issues in reality than to not see them as issues at all. It's fine to hope for stories that don't have any issues, or at least deal with them seriously. It's just an observation. The MC in this story is supposed to be a motherly, housewifey insecure worrier and the ML is supposed to be a confident provider of support that allows him to find family and security and confidence. The relationship is not really supposed to be taken as something that would really happen and be accepted without problem irl (even accounting for slightly different cultural attitudes in Japan). Sometimes we can enjoy it for what it's intended to be, sometimes something hits a bottom line for people.
At this point it seems like I'm the only person who actually still likes reading this manga. Rip.
This shit is cute and it's a hill I will die on.
