Honestly I had pretty high hopes for this story at the beginning but I think what really threw it all off was how OVERBOARD the seme goes in getting his “revenge”. Like yes the seme goes through a lot of bad stuff but it doesn’t feel like “enough” to do all that he did to the Uke (especially because the Uke didn’t personally do anything to the seme, or even intended it). The whole ‘he left me’ is a good excuse, but DAMN! not THAT good of an excuse. Personally I feel it would’ve been better if he had just done the same thing back, like made Uke fall in love with him, THEN leave him that would’ve been enough. But the Uke didn’t even mean to ‘leave him’ so all this feels completely unnecessary, overboard and really annoying when authors do this.
There are multiple stories with this same concept and it’s always that they go overboard with the “revenge” that they eventually realize isn’t revenge and they just wanted to get them back. I think to make a plot like this work, you gotta make both characters hate-able. Like I should be angry at the uke just as much as the seme (vice-versa) or else what the hell is the point in doing ALL THAT!
