I say this with all the kindness in the world. You’ve essentially said it’s bad to sexualize sex(“just let them fuck without sexualizing it even further”), seeing as this is under yaoi tag, it’s safe to assume they will have it. Some people have preferences in sex. That’s not a bad thing. If you, yourself have some shame about what you read(them being high schoolers in this case) that’s for you to work though(I do hope you are able to let go of your shame though.) It’s not uncommon for high schoolers to have sex, and I promise you the artist and author isn’t a high schooler. None of the people who okayed its publication are high schoolers. It’s okay to read about age groups beyond your own. You aren’t morally superior because you don’t have a preferred Seme or uke, or because you’re consuming your BL with less rigid standards, just like people who do have preferences aren’t superior for having them. We’re all BL and yaoi fans, and I’d rather let someone know what’s going on than waste their time (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ (I didn’t realize this would be so long damn!)

100000000% agree with you. I can’t even add something more. Some (new) people in the manga/anime/fandom sphere really rub me the wrong way. They act like the policing police. They ask to not sexualiize a sexualized content what does it even mean ?

Eh it’s nothing new, people have always been like that but then usually they grow out of caring so much about what others read, it’s a huge difference than like this website in 2017. Some people stay mad forever like that person and like stuff like madk (cannibalism/prostitution) but are not okay with underage sex, or apparently having a preferred top/bottom. People have different standards and taste, that’s fine but stop making it other people’s issue. I wish that there were more warnings so people could choose more easily but since there’s not I hope more people remember the phrase “don’t like don’t read/interact” and block people bc that’s what I do. But yes let’s all enjoy our reading!

They probably haven’t replied since saying I should have a mediocre day bc I blocked them lol(im not gonna keep arguing with someone whose so ashamed of what they read haha, a hit dog will continue to holler like they did) and I encourage that people block me if they disagree with what I think too. I feel like I’ve read things that’d make them keel over and d*e, because fiction is fiction to me too, and variety is the spice of life (for me). I think it’s wonderful to warn people of what problematic triggers/trope could be in manga but I hate when people get mad that others(like me) might like them.

I can understand what they mean though. As I age, sure I still find these soft bl cute because they also remind us of our teenage times etc..., but I also feel strangely uncomfortable, as I'm now a full adult watching high schoolers fall in love and doing H stuffs...
The discomfort might also be because here, the HS boys look really like teens, and not like in some manhwas where they look like 25-30 yo lol.
It will help that in this case where the characters look so young, if this was shonen-ai. You guys don't have any problem and each to their own, but this can be a real struggle to other readers. I hope you empathize that

I understand what you mean completely, and you explained your feelings very well. I’m not judging people who are uncomfortable with students having sex, or grow out of reading about younger people. It’s natural for feelings and preferences to change as you age. It’s more so the lashing out because of that discomfort/shame and moral policing that I take issue with. I’m very much for warning people what they’re getting into(for example, I label all content warnings in my lists) be that who’s topping or if someone dies etc. I never want to trigger anyone or make them uncomfortable, however I feel like I shouldn’t be made to feel bad because you don’t like it. I also find certain things uncomfortable in yaoi/BL but I won’t be taking my dislike about that out on anyone. I’ll simply comment oh this part I don’t like and move on, or stop reading it completely like I do with others stories I don’t like. I feel like more people should do that, instead of moral policing others and hate commenting constantly.

Also for a long time I feel like the bulk of BL was about high school students(which is why it still doesn’t bother me now, maybe it will in another decade) but we have a lot more age diversity now to pick from(thank god) I’m happy for that since I’ll be a wrinkly old person reading old man yaoi some day
