I think etiennes decision is perfectly fair i feel like commenters are forgetting that etienne was alone for AWHILE. Like Rishar was out fighting monsters. Sure he sent letters,but that doesn't change etienne being alone.
Honestly I'd be PISSED at rishar if i were etienne lmao. Rishar told the emperor without permission or even letting etienne know in advance.
