A bit weird since sometimes they use my step family's names. A lot. So I usually change the names in my mind. I would use Ren, Ryu, Jin, Sou, etc..

I have never read or seen any stories that had family members names but i did play a episode game where the love interest had the same name as my ex (who im still friends with), tbh i just kinda blocked it out
Lol, one I read recently had my nephews name in it so I mispronounced it on purpose inside of my head
How do you make it not creepy or weird for you to read or watch stuff where characters have the names of people you know irl? Like ive heard BJ Alex is good but John and Alex are the names of my brothers lmfao
