Well, dunno if this can help or not coz it's been A LONG time since I read the novel
If I remember right, in the novel, she does take her time thinking things through, planning things out, etc. And there was a lot more exposition on what and why things were happening.
If anything, this manwha adaptation is like an really abridged version of the story
100% right!!! That I what I felt like too.
1. Her treatment of him was strange considering she supposedly is from another world where she was poor & unemployed.
2. A person having always being rich would have behaved the way she did. Buying hum clothes & dressing him like she was sugar mommy. Like tear up the ownership contract in front of his eyes! How about that for drama?
3. Like I'm still in chapter 26, but for some reason she still hasn't removed her ownership of him. Like if it was me, I would've addressed that 1st after feeding him.
4. The patronship, the clothes, the education etc... those should've come after she freed him legally.
5. Correct me if I'm wrong because the manga has still not addressed her legal ownership of Kian. And idk how he managed to become an earl & a mage before he lost his status as a slave. She may not treat him as a slave rather as a pet. And that still doesn't legally make him a free man.
This remains my biggest ethical dilemma here.
Wow I get why some ppl are angry at this story. This guy's a slave who went through all sorts of horrible stuff and she's (albeit transmigrated) a duke's daughter who has all the power and wealth. She helped him because he's going to kill her otherwise.. imagine if he's not going to kill her, or if he didn't have any power, or a pretty face. I'm sure he'd die a gruesome death as a slave.
That's not the entire point. FL is so privileged that she thought she could just take him in and give him stuff? Didn't even think about how others would feel or the consequences. Idk it's just very privileged and a bit brainless thinking imo. It's like she's taken in a pet instead. Sure, she said "treat him like a human.", but yk how unrealistic this sounded.
Anyway, she just looks like a privileged rich kid who knows nothing about trauma or how the world works (even tho, with her bg, she should know more).
