Bbg if you didn't noticed till now he's not your normal regular king. He's a psychopath with severe obsession. He can't comprehend the thoughts of a normal person. He wants him all by himself. He doesn't enjoy the idea of sharing him with his family or anyone. That's kinda like the whole premise of this story.
If he misses his home so much why doesn't he bring his home to him?? If he wants to tend to patients there then send doctors. There's no need to be this black flag. If he wants a reason to make him stay just ask him to be his advisor or something I swear these authors just want bs as plot
