That last line is something I've been saying since that series came out. I knew enough by its popularity to know it was a bad representation of BDSM.
My introduction was Nana to Kaoru, which you can find on here. Don't watch the live action; they botched that up. The story doesn't involve sex and the genders are reversed from this manhwa. I recommend it if I know the person will read comics or give a brief explanation like this one if the person only reads books.
This manhwa...I kinda need to know they're into it; it isn't as easy to recommend so far. The beginning, yes, but as much as I (and everyone else in this comment section) knew Courtney was dom material, I could see others thinking the switch was too drastic (which isn't true.)
It wasn't drastic at ALL! You could tell the moment she looked at that first toy that she was interested, and she literally gives us a running tally about how much more she enjoys it as time goes on. I've never seen anything so blatant about leading someone into something, explaining along the way and checking in when it looks like things might go sideways. Actually I read one with a title that had to do with cacti that was really open like this, but my point is, those people are doing it don't understand the meaning of things and assume it's worse than it is.
Right. And that's why fifty shades getting the popularity it did when it wasn't even good was so infuriating. Because it was popular enough for the general public to read and then they walk away thinking that's all it is. Though about control, it's just as much about trust. The sub has to give their master the control over them that breaking the rules is breaking that trust.
So far, Courtney is who I would want people to know. Kaoru from the one I metioned is known as perverted to those around him so it's harder to like him at first and Nana snubs him at times in the beginning but they're high school kids so it's normal for that age. Courtney hits every box, just like you said. And she hasn't lost control yet; that was Richard disobeying. If this whole manhwa continues at this level, we are in for a treat. The drama will come from the daily court and the energy will be channeled into the night. So exciting.
I'm not into bdsm. Not even remotely. Ok perhaps I'd be cool with blindfolds and handcuffs, but that's literally my limit. I think it would fundamentally break something inside of me to either be the person laughed at the way she did at the end, OR be the one laughing; in the worst way possible. If be terrified of sex after that any it would give a ridiculous amount of mental handouts that would quickly make friends with those I currently have. I'm not built for this kind of play.
And yet this is one of my current favorites. The sex is still somewhat hot to me and the relationship between the two mains is AMAZING!! I LOVE This story so much despite being really not into the literal point of the story lol. I think everyone of age should read this. I wish everyone who read 50 shades had read this instead.
