I kinda don't like the mother either..... because if my son was beating up a dude I'm with i want to figure out what's going on to make my son do that. Especially if it's out of his character. My son is my life that man can come and go.
I do feel like if she sat the son down and demanded him (aka look me into my eyes and tell me what is going on.Tell me the truth and everything) what is going on then things wouldn't have gone so bad.
SO... I understand they all did something but to say the mother is the perfect victim is a weak take. Because her lack of being attentive to her child emotional well being ( *reasons bellow) also contributed to this entire mess. (〜￣△￣)〜
