EXACTLY and the author is very well aware of how irritating the mc is, thats why they make sure to emphasize it so in later chapters the mc has reason to change.
There is a thing called character development, I have seen other jerk like characters before then became a better person later on. We all should be glad this isn't a damn love triangle
"dropping bc the mc sucks" YALL THE WHOLE POINT of showing the mc being insufferable and annoying is for later character development.
