As someone with APD, he's just an asshole that doesn't excuse anything he's just trying to manipulate the me into feeling sympathy for him. I hate the "willful negligence" speech because no, people with low empathy still don't go around setting people's houses on fire for funsies, especially if there is someone inside and they are aware of this.

    *spoiler alert* and yes you’re right, he mentioned himself in next chapters that he used this sob story to manipulate inseob into feeling sympathy and staying with him yikes

    Yes it can range from mild to severe, and many people with severe ASPD can become criminals out of a lack of care for others rights, but typically if they are raised right, even if they don't understand or feel that other's lives are important, they can still take the necessary precautions they need to live normally. For example most people don't get into fights because fighting is wrong and they don't want to hurt other people, but for me I think it's just too troublesome to get into fights because I would be bored in a jail cell, not because I care about if the other person gets hurt or not. I can still recognize when people are sad, even if I can't empathize or sympathize with them I still know the correct action to take is to try and comfort them.
