so basically in guideverses theres always monsters/creatures that invade Earth. Espers (or sentinels in some other manwhas) have special abilities that make them able to kill monsters but its at the cost of their physical or mental health (the cost could be that they are consumed by their powers and get corrupted or they go insane, it depends on the manwha). Guides also have special powers, but its to mitigate the backlash of the power espers use to kill the monsters. It can be physical contact or sometimes just being around an unstable esper. Guides ususally can't fight monsters themselves. Theres also different ranks based on how strong a guide or espers power is (F being the lowest S+ being the highest).
