Oscar never gets the hint, but he does come around to stop confessing his love and just wanting to be in her life. Pretty sure Ursula groomed both her children, once both are dead she finds a kid of a deceased princess who married a foreigner. She legit makes a deal which controls the kid, much like how we saw the Emperor look.
We learn that her "holy" power isn't really such, it's demonic power that with mana she can make appear like holy power like her daughter the priestess. So that prophecy about Rita's daughter wasn't about her daughter at all, they twisted the words. The prophecy had been about Rita and Giuseppe [her hubby], "The treacherous King of the North will reveal the truth". She'd construct the alchemical circle The Eye of Truth which only she could make happen, the circle that took her back in time was an unfinished version so it took her life as an exchange to send her back to "reveal the truth" in a sense.
Honestly, if they just left them alone in their little Dukedom, the prophecy would have never happened but no because Rita's daughter had been born blessed by the goddess unlike Ursula [the pope] she wanted the daughter dead so she could take the holy power from the child and continue her reign over the empire while sending souls to her contracted demon like usual. This is also why Demon Hunters are so hated in the empire, because they'd be able to see that the holy power was false, they can't be controlled by it is what I'm betting on.
Rita's little girl is supposed to be the new Pope that was truly blessed by the Goddess, not the current fake one that uses demonic power as holy power because holy power isn't able to be taken and given like they've been doing. You're either born with it or not. Ursula has been taking holy power each year when she "blesses" newborns at the festival, she takes it to build on her power.
Pretty sure she's been using the power to stay so youthful as well as keep her emotions in a calm manner, she did tell us that she must have been weak on the power to feel rage when she was thrown into a dungeon cell. It's also how we learn she's contracted with a demon and feeds on his blood for his demonic power [mana] to use as fake holy power. She made a contract with the demon when they were both young.
It's a mess, but if you don't feel like reading I can keep you updated on plot points, I mean it gets good. We learn even her further future self is the reason she gets the book for the circle. She'd seek herself out in both timelines and knew that the second one was her regressed version. It was fun watching her click the pieces into place when the "merchant" her vanishes as she comes to understand she would be the only one able to actually make and put the alchemical circle to proper use to reveal the truth.
Back to that prophecy, "Treacherous King" is her husband, he legit kills George on the throne and turns the throne black. He committed treason because George killed his own sister the priestess who looked like Rita at the time, making the empire believe Rita was dead when George knew Rita ran off looking like his sister only after he killed his sister and stole her holy power.
Then the "Will reveal the truth" part means Rita will reveal the truth, the lies the holy council and order had been constructed on. To reveal that the Pope is a false holy person and such. At least this is what I'm banking on, but there could be more to reveal, since we're just about to get to this part.
Again, if they just left them alone, none of this would have happened. Just left Giuseppe and Rita alone with their little daughter, and nothing bad would have happened. Granted, Yvonne still would have had the blessing from the Goddess, but I'm sure the two wouldn't have let her go to the church xD

i read this till like chapter 33 and had to stop readin it for a couple hours because it made me so stressed that my heart was beatin too fuckin fast lol but i did read till the latest chapter and i really wanna punch the daylights outta oscar because he cant take a fuckin hint at all. if it were me i would have bitch slapped his ass by this point
also i get the feelin ursula kinda groomed george a little bit..? i dunno but i know i wouldnt trust her near a kid based on how she was with the mixed child(i dont remember how to spell his name sadly) she doesnt see him as a human more as a tool and that possibly gives more insight to her character but idk how to decipher it because its like 3am and brain not braining hahahahaha
