could someone please explain how the whole 'saving game' works? i used to think i understood it but i clearly dont. the casettes and tape players and the different people saving it and what happens when there is already a tape in the player...is it just me or has the story never really delved into it yet? (/TДT)/

I think it's to save the endings and the collectibles he found in his multiples playthrough.

Casettes are for saving the round you are playing, it’s like progressing through the game because you keep track of your previous rounds. If you find a casette in a player it means that someone has already saved their progress. What Doha meant with mentioning this is that there’s someone else, other than him and Bada, who knows they are playing a game, because none of them saved that tape that he found on the player, so who else could have done it? Doha’s theory is that glasses dude did it. He thinks he is the other conscious NPC (or player, we still don’t know that) because of how his behavior changed: when Doha found that already saved tape, he stole it and started to use it as his own saving casette, meaning that the previous person who was using the casette now doesn’t get to save their progress, which leads them to getting stuck on past rounds (reason why his behavior changed). Idk if this makes any sense :(
