It is, but that also implies he doesn't think that Taeyoon is capable of protecting himself or their child. By not having that information, he is relying on the people with Taeyoon to do the protecting- leaving him unaware of threats. He is behaving as if Taeyoon is vulnerable and not his partner. By having others "keep them safe" he is putting Taeyoon at a disadvantage if he does need to protect them.
