I think it has more to do with the Asian culture being about conformity and not standing out, that's why she feels do strongly about mr Kwon choosing to do something that isn't socially appropriate in Korea
Honestly that's the only angle that makes sense fr, I just wish the author explained it a bit better lmao
It's a Korean manga and I'm guessing, korean people are the main target, so for them it would be obvious, but it would have been nice to maybe have a note from the translator
