Basically she knew how it felt likes to be different and to be treated different. he likes the head villagers and didnt want him to face the same difficulty as she has in the past.
She thinks that the way of achieving happiness is by having what majority people have. Likes having 2 married parent instead of divorced ones. Also she knew that the village is small and them being exposed as gay is very likely and villager arent accepting with that sort of thing
