I think that’s what the author is trying to show. That because they’re happy in their relationship, she’s envious of that because she’s had no one, even her grandma struggles with things so she can’t rely on her grandma for comfort either. Some people won’t support you cause they’re wallowing in their own misery (づ￣ ³￣)づ
I'm not 100% sure I understand where she is coming from.... I'm trying not to judge, since it seems like the author wants to show she's going through something. But it seemed like a "I can't be happy so you can't be happy" moment, which is upsetting. I'm guessing the author uses this as an opportunity to start that convo between the two.
