I read the novel a long time ago so it might not be entirely correct
She gets implicated in a rebellion happening in the country because of ML's sister. Isabella asked her to take care of a wounded man (Jake) who was part of the resistance. FL was scared and suspicious (Isa. did not tell her directly that she was involved with the revolt) but her good conscience would not leave an injured man alone so she helped. Stuff happens, the police find out she's been taking care of Jake, think that she's his lover and puts her in prison. Isabella is confined within the mansion and ML uses underhanded tactics to try to get her out, asks FL to lie but FL refused and admitted to housing Jake. She is sentenced to 6 months and stops corresponding with the ML. ML was upset she didn't take his help and FL felt what she did made it over between them.
After being released from prison she moved straight to NY, America with tickets she got from an inmate. When ML found out, he gave up trying to be with her and took that as her betrayal towards him.
Over there she meets Enzo (2nd ML, affiliated with mafia), an Italian American and starts work at a hotel while also helping out with flat-owners grocery shop. Peace for a year until Holtzman (ML's friend, the mean one) recognizes her and decides to try and get ML and FL together again. He tricks ML into coming to NY.
I loved how FL was able to pick herself back up and make a life for herself, an independent life out of her own capabilities. It's incredible that a person of her class and ranking is unbothered by working a hospitality job (her pride as a noble does not get in the way) and how adaptable she is with the modernization of the world. When I was reading it I could feel the shift from an era where royals and nobles ruled with lineage and estates to one that kinda felt very roaring 20's where big corporations were king.
But honestly I don't think FL would have been truly happy with her life in NY, though she was doing fabulously. Even if she had decided to stick with Enzo and build a family and life with him, there would always be a part of her closed to him for she never loved him the way he loved her (deeply, passionately). She had left her heart behind with the ML and I'm glad they managed to find each other again.
She never held any romantic feelings towards him and the short period (probably a few days or weeks) they were together as partners was due to Enzo's insistence. Enzo knew that she had secrets and there was someone else but he thought if he was good to FL, FL will forget about her past love. He's like golden retriever energy, always talking to her, buying her gifts, everybody around them thought they were bound to be together. FL liked him too but more like a friend/brother, she was very grateful to him because Enzo and his family were the first friends she had in NY. She did try to envision a future with him but ML showed up.
But Enzo was also part of the mafia and hid this fact from FL, further complicating matters because the mafia targeted her. There were also moments where you could see his temper/jealousy and ruthlessness (mafia business). None of the characters are perfect, ML and FL included. When the ML appeared, Enzo knew that his time was up. The way Holtzman went about tricking the FL and ML to meet was horrible to Enzo (he thought he was getting a business deal and was all excited but Holtzman only paid attention to FL). FL was the one who took the initiative to break things off.
If the ML never tried to get FL back, I honestly don't know if she would have stayed with Enzo, it felt very much like choosing the second option. He knew it, she knew it. I think Enzo would have held on to her even if she tried to leave (FL has this untethered feeling to her, I wouldn't be surprised if she became a spinster), he was so infatuated or did he just like the idea of her? A frail pretty foreigner washed up ashore with no friends or family, she would have to depend wholly on him. I think he liked that.
It's refreshing to actually see fl starting over moving and even working and trying to find someone new and even who once was a noble one
I'm kinda curious about her relationship with Enzo but i think it's gonna like other typical stories where she's still can't get over her past love ..
Was the ml the one who tried getting with her when he saw her in NY or she was the one to actually fall for him with a simple hello again and all that?
But isn't it kinda childish?!the ml i mean Oh I pushed her away and when i tried helping her and she refused i felt betrayed..
And the way she moved after the prison it's understandable cause if she didn't have anyone else and if she and the ml were over and not in contact anymore she wouldn't have any reason to go talk to him or even stay near ..
Did actually try to be with her or just getting her out back then and when she refused and moved after he just felt betrayed on his own?
She never loved Enzo and wasn't pursuing any romantic relationships when she was in NY, her brief period of dating Enzo was because he insisted, and partly because she tried to move on. Enzo is vastly different from the ML, he's bright/charming/ambitious and I think she wanted some of that life to seep into her as well.
I actually felt bad for the ML when FL was in prison, though of course FL was experiencing hardship herself, she was pushed into a messy situation just by helping out Isabella. The ML tried desperately to protect her and get her out without even knowing the full picture (FL never told ML that she sheltered Jake for Isabella), and all his hard work amounted to nothing because FL didn't want to lie (she wanted to protect Jake). Leaving without telling him was the last blow, especially given their history together you would expect a note or something but she just left. She did not have any family left yes, but ML and Isabelle were still her friends. It was her misunderstanding that ML wouldn't want to see her again (untrue since ML was preparing to welcome her back and didn't care that she was an 'offender' in the eyes of the law) and both their reluctance to contact each other that culminated in her leaving.
Ooh I really want to read the novel now .. is it the same name ?
And did he eventually knew it was for Isabella?
The miscommunication again here .. true they both were her friends and they lived together all the time in the hospital but maybe if they hadn't talked for the whole time when she was in jail and maybe cause of the ppl talk and she was in jail she didn't want ppl to judge them or something? Idk
But It's interesting to read tbh i don't think i can wait for the webtoon any longer
You're correct, she didn't want to stain their reputation as nobles. I forgot since it's been a while but I don't think she told him about her prison situation though I think he suspected since Isabelle was involved. She also never tells him about her past life.
The novel is called Salvation Equation but I don't think fully translated.

The webtoon progression and the update is really slow tbh based on the spoilers it needs atleast 50 to 100 more chapters so it's gonna take years..
They could but i like the idea of fl trying to move on and depending on herself not be like I'm a noble and find someone to depend on or that stuff.. and it's refreshing kinda giving up on the idea of helping him when he doesn't want it and stop trying to make their relationship work or better than it was in her past life and just be friends and doesn't pressure him like just let it be and actually trying to move on and make a new life for herself .. it's kinda refreshing even if it's for while and they gonna ends up together
So probably the novel is way faster than waiting for the webtoon
Tho ending together in one chapter seems kinda hard cause their timing is just messed up
When he wanted to marry her she refused
When she wanted him he refused
When they both wanted each other .. war and his injury
When she wanted him he refused again
And now when she kinda give up on him he seems to want to be with again!
She actually does leave, she's one of the few female leads who actually does and restarts her life. So proud of her for that.
