on one hand, i think the dad plot twist was incredibly stupid and hacky. on the other, i can only be grateful that this isn’t another manga where a woman (in this case her stepmom) is the Big Bad manipulating the men around her to do awful things to the FL (although, and even though i trust this mangaka, there’s still time for this to be a reveal, unfortunately)
ngl it's just feels random than a surprising turn considering we barely knew the father and the readers' connection with him wasn't really built up (we only knew him as a loving father but that seems basic and surface-level info)
Going to be honest I remember Jack about the father like I thought he was dead or something ahahah. So seeing him appear and be evil was less of a plot twist and more of a "ah another evil family member arrives"

exactly. i think we were supposed to feel as betrayed as the FL but like you said, we have little to no connection with him given how he was almost a non-factor in the entire story besides the first few chapters
