I want him to see his lover crying - make a distressed face and offer him a hug instead of smiling to himself and having an internal monologue about what an awesome lover he's going to be while his partner bawls his eyes out. That is not a normal reaction.
I want him to show empathy. I have never in my life stood there smiling as someone I loved cried. Or even as someone I mildly like cries.

i think people are being unnecessarily harsh here and should not be saying ‘coke rant’ over a topic on a bl manhwa of all things, but while you are 100% absolutely entitled to your own opinion this IS also completely willfully misunderstanding the situation at hand and kind of overextrapolating an issue where there is none. holding robin to the standards of the reader isn’t fair because he didn’t have pretty much any of the information we did. that’s what this chapter is about. making robin realise how deep hangyul’s affections ran. and to say he’s never done anything for hangyul is kind of disingenuous because hangyul was very closed off and a lot of robin’s efforts to inch towards him were pushed back. you can’t do anything for someone who won’t let you, and there’s no way hangyul would have accepted anything robin did try to do for or give him.
this is not a situation where one was clearly in the right and one wasn’t, hangyul’s feelings were completely unknown to robin and robin’s attitude completely blindsided hangyul. to act like robin is a terrible person and partner, while a valid opinion to have because everyone is entitled to their own, kind of ignores the story setup and how they both handle and address things. hugging him the moment he saw he was crying would have been inappropriate as comfort because hangyul needed to say his piece & robin needed to respond. hugging him first would have probably made him cry harder. and then they DID embrace, so…?
is confident he can make Hangyul happy? Despite making him cry for years and right then? Despite never trying to view things from the other person's perspective, ever putting them first, or doing anything for Hangyul all this time? .......okay. I don't see this relationship working in any way except for Hangyul to keep making sacrifices for Robin and to put Robin first for the rest of their lives, I guess. I don't know if Robin can compromise at all. Him smiling and thinking "I am so happy, I will make you happy from now on" while the person he loves is bawling his eyes out, not trying to provide any comfort at all was super weird to me. No sympathy at all for your partner's suffering? You don't feel bad at all now that you realize he's been heartbroken for years? Okay
