Honestly same, what I'm annoyed at is not even the angst and how much of an asshole the alpha dude is, because that's the whole point of this work. But trying to make the alpha have his "redemption arc" and "actually he loved the uke the whole time yay" using other people feels lazy. I wanted those facts to come out of the seme's mouth, not his friend and sister
