Hyun doesnt know much about him and Sekye plus he also dont know Sekye's connections. Also, Inthink he still looks at Yijun as the same person who knew before that's why he felt a feeling of wanting to protect him.
When you're in a bind like this your sense of reasoning is off. Clearly he is just playing all nice and ok in the outside but look at what's happening behind doors. Imagine what kind of mental state you'll bebin when youre in that kind of situation.

In season 1 I think? Yijun got an audition for a role which he thought was his last chance to finally become an actor. Hyun wasn’t suppose to renew his contract with the shitty agency when it was ending and when the CEO found out, he used his connections so that Yijun wouldn’t get the role because he knew Yijun and Hyun were friends.
Yijun broke down and decided to quit acting with that theater performance to be his last. CEO blackmailed Hyun that he would continue to sabotage Yijun’s career so poor Hyun felt so guilty he renewed his contract with shitty agency.
thank God a renowned director saw Yijun’s theater performance and loved him, that is why he was given the lead role in his film now.
But the movie isn’t out yet and Yijun isn’t famous yet so I guess that’s why Hyun can’t do anything.
um respectfully what could the ceo do to yijun? spread rumors? but if the other artist is suing the company and it ruins their image then why would people believe them… i just don’t understand what he’s worried about. that yijun will sign? but at this point he already knows the company is sketchy so he’s smart enough to avoid it. plus he’s got sekye
