Perhaps the author didn't want their manga to be boiled down to "just" a yaoi. So his work doesn't have that stigma that normies usually associate with yaoi.

That would make more sense bc nowhere on their twitter do I see them defending this take. Their manga was promoted on there with a "Virgin uncle vampire x psychopath cheeky younger servant"- ship tag, whatever you wanna call it, and they openly retweeted that.
So I don't think they're denying the gay. If you look at the volume covers alone it gets pretty obvious.

(Writing again incase my reply didn’t get posted for some reason) I thought maybe since nothing was confirmed that it’s just fanservice. But some scenes really look obvious and not everything has to be spelled out. Also they are interesting and fun together wether romantically or platonic :3

I remember someone told me it was confirmed to be a bromance, that they wouldn't get together period and they would just be friends. I don't know how true that is though. I don't mind no sex but I would like them to date, cause I'm here for the romance <(￣︶￣)>, but from what I remember the person said they won't. I mean regardless I still really like the story so will continue to read it even if they don't get together officially. I'll just get frustrated if they get jealous and flirt but don't actually date or openly admit romantic feelings lol

I do think they are gay for each other but if the author don’t want to make it bl we have no say in this. I was traumatized with vampire knight. The two boys had crazy chemistry but the fucking girl ruined it all so i really don’t mind if they don’t date at the end but as long as no girl inter their lives we readers are free imagine the ending.

Yeah that's how I feel too, like you can't make two guys act insanely gay for each other with possessiveness, jealousy, and intimacy, then pair one of them with a random side chick, that feels like disrespectful almost lol
