He befriended another species , then told her to fuck off then got scared she was going to leave and when she got back , a tad bit more obsessive he started treating her like a monster ( he got disgusted by her kiss) honestly he never saw her as an equal from the very beginning
He was a kid befriending another kid. Then the MC saw his old friend again but she killed the aunt and uncle. Even if they deserved it. You would fear a murderer too - that's not seeing someone as not equal. That's fear. And now he is on a turning point of being so scared for even rain that he is thinking of killing her since that's the only way for him to escape.
