The age gap

He's in his 20s I think since in a past chapter they talked about how he kept repeating grades? Maybe it was just one grade but he seems older than his peers.

If he was an older male chasing a younger female, it'd be weird depending on the age gap/age range.

I’m guessing he’s around 26-28 years old. Koreans usually finish high school at 18. If they’re going to be a university student, usually they take a gap year to prepare for the entrance exam. There is also the mandatory military for males. Last chapter the uni-kids mentioned that he kept repeating years in uni(?) and that he is older than most of his peers so he might be in his senior year now.

The lack of backlash for this relationship had to do with him being in his mid-20s, not 19.

If he was a minor and/or barely legal, people would definitely point that out. But he’s shown to be older compared to his college-aged friends so it’s alright.

We were also giving genuine answers as to why he could be older than an average college student.

I think one reason no one is criticizing the “age gap” right now is that the male lead's age hasn’t been revealed yet. All we know is that he is a college student who has repeated years in school (I’m not sure if it’s high school or university). His year level in college hasn’t been disclosed either.

However, even if the male lead is in his freshman year of college, assuming he repeated three years in high school, that would make him 21. If he took a gap year for the entrance exam and spent two years in the military before entering college, he could already be 24.
