some of yall are truly mad because the MC is doing stuff you wouldnt do. But thats not the point and its an overall bad way to intake stories. Don't base a character or the quality of the story based on if they do 'the right thing' or not. Some stories are meant to have big mistakes occur. If we just had books where the MC was just constantly winning then what's even the point? If this MC was 'smart' and did everything the 'right way' then the story wouldn't progress. Its supposed to be like this and for that it's written quite well.
YESSS! i love pathetic mcs! because they feel human than those protagonists who can remember a entire novel/game, incredibly smart and capable of creating something that didn't exist in their new world, and charming others by being dumb. Which she tried, but you can see it didn't go well at ALL, just like it would go in real life (who likes dumb girls?)
Some of you are being way too harsh on the MC. She's legit trying the hardest she can. This is a horror story about the Mary Sue trope gone wrong. If you all would just stop looking for the characters to be flawless fearless genius IQ (or to be realer, YOUR self insert), you'd enjoy the story a lot more.
