It's so sad that at one point all stories suddenly lose their uniqueness and turn to the same old clichés.
Right now what's keeping my interest up is My Derelict Favourite, it's a slowburn and you can kinda see the ML slowly fall in love with the FL. And it's about as fast as cooking a chicken by slapping it. But it makes more sense than that. I know you weren't looking for recs, but I thought why not
Yessss I love my delicate favorite I like the fact that we see him slowly start falling in love with her and and we understand why he likes her. Like it doesn’t feel out of nowhere.
This is so true especially what you said about the female lead always falling in love with him because he’s nice and good looking like for example Second Life of a Trash Princess the male leads whole personality is just being good-looking and that’s literally the only reason why she likes him because he’s nice and hot but honestly, it’s starting to piss me off because every time she sees him, she just blushes and she won't stop talking about how hot he is. I can name so many other manhwas like this too, it’s like annoying
What really stood out to me was that he was healing first and falling in love after. He didn't magically get better by blindly falling in love again and she didn't even think about taking advantage of him.
And she understood that making a move when he was at his lowest would be taking advantage of him. That's what's more surprising in a romance manhwa nowadays (〜￣△￣)〜

I also read bl I probably read more BL than I have ever read straight romance it’s just is easier to find five chapters or one shot bls since I’m a slow reader

I like straight romance, but I feel like a lot of them are just so cliché and every time I ask for a recommendation for something unique the story never really ends up being unique especially with historical romance like the fl and ml always have the dumbest reasons to like each other. It’s always cause she’s “different” from the rest or She’s so pitiful and weak and they usually have mommy issues so they see they’re reflection of their mother in the fl like how to get my husband on my side and The Closet Fan Princess. And for the female lead, it’s always the same thing too. He’s different or bc he does the bare minimum since she always has to have abuse backstory and she be falling for him just cause he’s nice and hot.
