I totally agree! I was just thinking too that there are people who can be overly conscious and critics of their self with even with being kind. Like they tend to think that they are not sincerely kind since it's a conscious effort and it's more of a front. But for me, people who thinks so are the ones who are really kind. No kind person will never doubt themselves that they are indeed kind people. Sometimes, those who self-proclaim that they are nice and kind people are the one who is most likely insincere
those who questions their self if they are indeed kind people can be the kindest ones around
and there are also some who are more polite and in turn can also be kind
Sometimes we just need someone to remind us that the kindness we show is not just a front, but that is what we really are. I think Shima-kun is just like that. Because of the trauma he experienced, he thought that everytime he shows kindness it is just for the show. But eventually it really comes natural to him.
